So, are the'clients' going to be evaluated by a licenced phsycologist ?
And why do they need to prove emotional abuse ? Aren't Refuge rules themselves abusive enough and contrary to officially accepted professional opinion on homosexuality AND behaviour modification programs .
LIA doesn't advertise their rules and regulations. The only way we even have access to it is because of Zach posting it in his blog. And he wasn't even supposed to have it. So they have to prove that abuse exists. You have to prove everything beyond a reasonable doubt in this country. Besides that, just because they are being investigated doesn't mean that they will find anything at first. LIA unfortunately have a lot of power.
(Memphis, Tennessee) Tennessee is investigating an abuse complaint against a therapy group in Memphis that claims to turn gay teens into heterosexuals.
The Department of Children’s Services says it received a complaint about Love in Action, which runs an outpatient therapy program. The complaint was screened and enough substance was found to open an investigation, state officials said.
Judging by the volume of stories from various sources on Google News I’d say the story has legs. Great work, bloggers. John Smid from Love in Action is directly attributing the investigation to the internet campaign that you have waged.
Me too. It could make or break our case, though. If they decide all is fine and well in LIA (though I don't know HOW) it would make proceeding more difficult.

(21) "Severe child abuse' means: (A) The knowing exposure of a child to or the knowing failure to protect a child from abuse or neglect that is likely to cause great bodily harm or death and the knowing use of force on a child that is likely to cause great bodily harm or death; (B) Specific brutality, abuse or neglect towards a child which in the opinion of qualified experts has caused or will reasonably be expected to produce severe psychosis, severe neurotic disorder, severe depression, severe developmental delay or retardation, or severe impairment of the child's ability to function adequately in the child's environment, and the knowing failure to protect a child from such conduct.
