The postcard campaign

I was thinking of contacting various webmasters and forum moderators to ask them to promote postcard campaign but I don't know where to send them for more info . I imagine people don't like to scroll and search for info . I think there should be a special page with info on who's organising it , the purpuse of the campaign and adresses .

Thank you for the link and congratulations on a great article .

Some more ideas . Ask organisations who're already involved like PFLAG to support the campaign . PFLAG mentions the campaign but it's burried in the middle of an article . Ask them to put a banner on their homepage with link to your article . Also ask for support HRC , ACLU , Human Rights Watch , Amnesty Intl ... Then with their permission list supporting orgs in your article .

Contact Bloggerss-I don't know if they can put a banner on their site but could they somehow publish a special alert that won't dissapear under new posts ?

Gay youth newspapers
Young Gay America
XY

Publish a call to action on Zach's blog with link to your article .

Another idea - use petition online , publish your article ( perhaps a bit shorter version ) at the bottom state ' By signing this petition you promise to participate in postcard campaign ' . The reason - I was thinking that nobody knows if anybody is reacting so viewing 2000-4000 signatures(FZ group) would be a good incentive for more people to join .

I hope that my brainstorm would be useful .As a foreigner I don't feel I have credibility to contact these organisations and people myself .

Would you mind if I give you advice ? Don't burn out , don't try to do everything by yourself . My impression at FZ group ( I may be wrong ) is that majority is losing interest due to lack of information and organisation , and a few people are active but lack direction . If you could contact these people , define what you can and cannot do as a group then share the work , you'd be more effective .

Thanks, I forwarded all that on for someone else to take care of.

Truth is, I am burnt-out, and I am just going to take the day off because I'm pretty much useless today.

I quit the Free Zach myspace group today. Too much drama.
I do not plan on going back.
I still want to help Zach and this movement, but not within the FZ group, so I'll check here every once in awhile. I'm not very social to begin with, so a group environment isn't always where I want to be. I'm usually friendly---just not social.

I'll be in California next week, so keep me updated if you can.

Wappy

Please don't quit

Andrew said

Shalom,

Take a few days off, but don't quit. You have been instrumental here and this cause would suffer through lack of you.

I'm getting that from a lot of people.

*sigh*

Am I that vital???????

Okay, so I posted this bulliten.

Subject: to you FZers....
Body: if you want me to rejoin the FZ group in a few days (I need a break!).
reply.

Monday I fly out to California to be with my fiance, so my internet access will be limited, and therefore, I won't be able to be even half as involved as I was (which may be a good thing for my own sanity).

My access will be limited, but I'm getting the impression from your messages that you don't want me to leave permenantly. I didn't realize I was that important to all of this??????

If I get 10 people to say reply with a yes, I'll rejoin at some point.

your insomniac oklahoma jewish crazy friend,
wappy

I'm going to go take a break for about 6 weeks (my vacation). Zach will probably get out during this time, so things hopefully, will get more interesting. I don't plan on spending much time on myspace, but I'll check back here when I can. Keep me updated.

Wappy, I have to say that you have done the most research in the FZ Group.  You've got excellent ideas and you have been committed!  I hate to see you go, but I can understand where you're coming from.  It seems sometimes that more people are into gossip than taking action.  I can't believe that there were people who actually got offended when you said something about it!  I hope you have a great time in Cali!!  And I hope to hear from you soon.

Thank you both. I have rejoined, but for my own sanity, I won't respond to wacky posts and won't be on very much. I slept most of the day today. Oh, and a little repost of useful stuff I just did:

Self Education: http://fzpressrelease.pbwiki.com/index.php?wiki=SelfEducation

EJ Started the whole blog storm that is the Zach movement, so thank him, and link him if you have ANY sites related to the topic:
http://www.cherrybloss.org/

You should also link the QAC: http://www.qaconline.org

A place where you can write press releases, resource lists, and copy pre-written articles to your blog/website for further promotion is here:
http://fzpressrelease.pbwiki.com
If you want to edit, the password is asdf.

We need more people to endorse the postcard campaign on their blogs to get the word out, please step up to the plate! Thank you already Nick from Detour Memphis and Bruce Garrett.
http://fzpressrelease.pbwiki.com/index.php?wiki=PostCards (You can just copy/paste that)

Links that I collected from posts are located at http://www.lookmarks.com keyword freezach
If you want to add a link, join lookmarks.com and tag something with the keyword freezach.

Planet Out did a podcast which can easily catch you up until the point of the investigation:
http://www.republicoft.com/index.php/archives/2005/06/30/zach-cast-published/

and latest press is that the Advocate did an article.
http://advocate.com/currentstory1_w.asp?id=18267

Concerning investigations and abuse: This post sort of sums it up well:
http://cockamamieideasinc.blogspot.com/2005/06/warning-signs-of-institutionalized.html
And this has signs of emotional abuse:
http://www.americanhumane.org/site/PageServer?pagename=nr_fact_sheets_childemotionalabuse
They opened an investigation:
http://www.washblade.com/2005/6-24/news/national/tennprobe.cfm
but it closed:
http://abcnews.go.com/US/story?id=878912&page=1
And now there's a new one:
http://www.washblade.com/2005/7-1/news/national/tenopen.cfm

Stuff you can handout:
http://butterfly1.freesuperhost.com/me/flyer.png (you must copy/paste it to work)
And this awesome Free Z comic:
http://66.197.210.102/~witchcra/FREEZ/

If you want to find more
blogs on the subject go to blogpulse.com keyword "love in action"

and go to news.google.com keyword "love in action"

People you should write to:

First of all, send Zach a postcard:
Zach
c/o Refuge
P.O. Box 171444
Memphis, TN 38187

Then people who can maybe help:

People have suggested contacting Rosie O'Donnell, Montel Williams, Michael Moore, Jon Stewart, and John Evans (the original founder of LIA).

Other people who you should complain to:

A list of churches that contribute to the program are listed below.
